STATEMENT OF FAITH
1. We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God (Matthew 5:18; 2 Timothy 3:16,17).
2. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 3:16-17; 28:19;
John 14:15; 2 Corinthians 13:14).
3. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and
atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His
personal return in power and glory (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18-23; 3:17; 8:29; Mark 1:1; 3:11; Romans 1:3-4; 3:23-26; 5:6-21; 1
Corinthians 15:3-4).
4. We believe that for the salvation of the lost and sinful, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential and that this
salvation is received through faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and not as a result of good works (Acts 16:29-34;
Romans 3:23-26; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Ephesians 2:8-10).
5. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life and to
perform good works (John 14:15-18; 15:26-27; Romans 8:9-11; Galatians 4:6; 7; 1 John 5:6-8).
6. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are
lost unto the resurrection of damnation (John 3:16-18; 1 John 5:11-13; Revelation 21:1-8).
7. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ (John 17:20-23).
8. We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female and that Christian marriage is the
uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture (Genesis 1:26-27, 2:23-24, 5:1-3, 1
Corinthians 11:7; Ephesians 4:23-24, 5:21-23).
To preserve the integrity of First Choice Women’s Resource Centers it is imperative that all persons employed by First Choice,
or who serve as volunteers, agree to abide by this Statement of Faith.
STATEMENT OF PRINCIPLE
1. First Choice Women’s Resource Centers are an outreach ministry of Jesus Christ through His church. Therefore, First Choice Women’s Resource Centers, embodied in its volunteers, are committed to presenting the gospel of our Lord to women with crisis pregnancies - both in word and deed. Commensurate with this purpose, those who labor as First Choice Women’s Resource Centers’ board members, staff, and volunteers are expected to know Christ as their Savior and Lord.
2. We seek to follow the example of Jesus Christ in His identification with the poor, the afflicted, the oppressed, the marginalized; in His special concern for children; in His respect for the dignity bestowed by God on women equally with men; in His challenge to unjust attitudes and systems; in His call to share resources with each other; in His love for all people without discrimination or conditions; in His offer of new life through faith in Him. We believe that God is the author and creator of all life, and that we are created in His likeness and image. As such, we believe and affirm that all life has inherent value, worth, and dignity because it is created by God. On the basis of this inherent value, we seek to protect and care for life in all stages of God’s creation, from conception to natural death.
3. First Choice Women’s Resource Centers believes and affirms that life begins at conception, at which time the full genetic blueprint for life is in place. Accordingly, we believe that our expression of love and service to God requires that we work to protect and honor life in all stages of creation. We are therefore committed to providing clients with accurate and complete information about both prenatal development and abortion.
4. First Choice Women’s Resource Centers are committed to integrity in dealing with clients, earning their trust, providing promised information and services, and eschewing any form of deception in its corporate advertising or individual conversations.
5. First Choice Women’s Resource Centers are committed to assisting women to carry to term by providing emotional support and practical assistance. Through the provision of God’s people and the community at large, women may face the future with hope and plan constructively for themselves and their babies.
6. First Choice Women’s Resource Centers do not discriminate in providing services because of the race, creed, color, national origin, age, or marital status of its clients.
7. First Choice Women’s Resource Centers do not recommend, provide, or refer for abortion or abortifacients.
8. First Choice Women’s Resource Centers offer assistance free of charge at all times.
9. First Choice Women’s Resource Centers are committed to creating an awareness with the local community of the needs of pregnant women and of the fact that abortion only compounds human need rather than resolving it.
10. First Choice Women’s Resource Centers do not recommend, provide, or refer single women for contraceptives. (Married women seeking contraceptive information should be urged to seek counsel, along with their husbands, from their pastor and physician.)
11. First Choice Women’s Resource Centers recognize the validity of adoption as one alternative to abortion, but is not biased toward adoption when compared to the other life-saving alternatives. Centers are independent of adoption agencies, relating to them in the same manner as to other helpful referral sources. First Choice Women’s Resource Centers receive no payments of any kind from these agencies, do not enter into contractual relationships with the agencies, and do not share combined office space. Adoption agencies are not established under the auspices of centers. First Choice Women’s Resource Centers neither initiate nor facilitate independent adoptions, though they may refer for independent adoptions in states where it is legal.
